We are pleased to have you join our online community!

Please take a moment to tell us about yourself...

I'll start:

I'm Angela and I am the developer of DoxaSoma, an ACE certified personal trainer since 1998, a harried, homeschooling mother of 4 and truly blessed to be married to David since 1993.

I began teaching Doxa in 2000 to a small group of women (and men) at City Vineyard in Chicago, IL.  Since then I have trained several other people to teach DoxaSoma and now God has scattered them all over the country to go to the people and bring this practice!

that's me...in a nutshell...

I'm BadgerMama (Sherri).
I came across a link to the DoxaSoma website in a forum signature on wahm.com.  I find DoxaSoma intriguing.  I'd love to learn a little more about it, but unfortunately, I don't think there are any classes in my area.
I totally understand how one could be uncomfortable with the spiritual aspects of yoga.  My husband was very uncomfortable with the thought of my practicing yoga or even getting into the martial arts as there's more than a little spiritualism in them, as well, in their meditations.
I'd really like to learn more about DoxaSoma.  Thanks,
BadgerMama

Hi Sherri and welcome!
I can absolutely understand one's trepidation in approaching practices that sit outside of their immediate narrative. That makes sense.  That is one of the main reasons I chose not to "christianize" yoga but rather to develope a practice which would be firmly rooted in the Christian story.

There is now a DVD available for DoxaSoma, it is our first and it is a good way to get first hand experience with the practice of DoxaSoma.  You could also feel free to pick up an Instructor manaul on lulu.com (see the "bookstore" link on www.doxasoma.com)
Both of these give much better explanation of the practice.

I've updated the website with hyperlinks (which I hope work!  please let me know if not!! LOL) and throughout the site there are many places where explanation of the practice is given.

As always, please feel free to ask any questions here as well, Sherri, if you'd like more indepth answers.  We'd love to hear from you.
(btw: wahm.com is awesome!  a great place to connect and quite a diverse group, I'd say!)

God's peace
Angela
